Life as I know it...

So two weeks ago our ward was split. It was a much needed split because we had too many people to keep track of. The following Sunday I was called into the Bishops office and he asked if I would accept being released from my current calling as a relief society teacher. I was incredibly reluctant to answer his loaded question. Let me back up for a second...

My dad has always teased and asked when I was going to be in the relief society presidency. Any time I called him to tell him I was asked to serve somewhere, he would immediatly go for relief society. I would tell him that he was crazy and not to wish that on me, I was fine doing what I was doing.

Well, sitting in the Bishops office he asked if I would accept a call as the first counsilor in the R.S. presidency over enrichment. As I accepted and told him I would "love" to, I sat thought about my dad. I told the Bishop that anyone who wanted me in a presidency was crazy. When I got home from my interview I wanted so bad to tell him about my new calling. I knew it wouldnt be the same, but to satisfy my need, I called my parents home phone. (As some of you know, we've asked mom not to change the message cuz it's dad's voice) When I heard the beep I proceeded to tell my dad all about it. Dumb, huh?!

So, needless to say my schedule just got shuved into overdrive and life as I knew it no longer exhists. I hope and pray that I can keep it all together. I was overwhelmed with the immediate love and concern that I have for the sisters in my ward, and a desire to help them in anyway I can.

Wish me luck!!

Where to begin...

Since my last post was talking about all the craziness, now I'm going to post pictures. While Jim's dad was visiting I was able to take a 3 generation picture. And the girls got a picture with their cousin Bailey.

These next pictures are from when my sister was here and we went up to m Uncle Kelly's house to play with the horses. The kids chased the chicken, picked and ate fresh raspberries and got to ride Felice.

When all our company went home I left town. I went to Syracuse to scrapbook for a weekend with my friend Kimberli. Once a year (Mother's day weekend) we get together and scrapbook all day and night. Well when my dad passed away in April Kimberli suggested we move the weekend to August. I was so grateful that she didn't expect me to go thru with it and didn't make me have to be the one to postpone it. It's been 4 months and I am still having a hard time scrapbooking pictures with him in them. Kimberli completed 4 beautiful layouts and I was able to get thru 9 mediocur ones.

Craziness

This last week has been filled with pure craziness. Last Saturday, Jim's dad, brother and sister in law and their 2 kids came to stay until Sunday. They came because Jim as well as 4 others from our ward were ordained to the office of High Priest. They also announced that our ward would be split. But don't get any wild ideas. There has been NO calling attatched!!!

Jim's family left Sunda night and my brother and sister in law and their 2 kids came and stayed until Tuesday afternoon at which point, my sister came and is staying until Thursday night. When she leaves, I go to work and the next day (Friday) I get to go scrapbooking for a weekend.

It has been fun. My sister and I got to spend my birthday together, which we haven't done in years. We watched home movies that my dad made. He also made a video of him talking about some of his memories. It was soooo great.

Evolution of dance

I can't figure out how to get a utube video to play on my blog, but go to the link and watch. It's histarical.

My friend Bobbi sent this to me in an email and I thought it was funny, so I'm sharing.
PREGNANCY Q & A
Q: Should I have a baby after 35?
A: No, 35 children is enough.
Q : I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college.
Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.
Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.
Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.
Q : Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.
Q : Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in college.

Memories

THIS SEEMED LIKE FUN.
Here are the directions:
1. As you comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Have you ever been walking along and had an overwhelming sense of satisfaction about your life. That happened to me the other day and it was a really great feeling. I had been thinking about where I am in my life and if we should have more kids. As I walked out of church one Sunday behind my kids, I looked at them and felt completely satisfied. Like, I wasn't missing out on anything. It was kindof wierd. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Catch up..

Jim, his dad and mom took the kids and went to Yellowstone for Father's Day weekend. I stayed home to work. It sounds like they had a blast. They were all very impressed with all the animals that were out. They even got up close with a bear. There was a park ranger on the side of the road with his hand on his holster.

Danaca and Kailyn played on a fast pitch baseball team. A couple from our ward were the coaches and asked if they would like to play. Never having played baseball, I was a little aprehensive, but they had a blast.

On Thursday we went boating with my friend Kelti and her family. It was a beautiful day and the water was nice and warm. I didn't wear a bathing suit because I am not a fan of what they look like on me, but it didn't matter. I ended up in the water along with Kelti and Melanie (Kelt's sister-in-law) after a long and difficult tube ride. I was assured that by sitting in the middle I would be safe and not get wet. But I knew that I would get splashed. Kelti's dad was determined to not only splash us, but dump us. I am now very aware of several muscles that I haven't used before trying to hold on for dear life to a three man tube. It was crule and I got wet! Total blast. Thanks Brother Bowman.

Do you ever feel like life is running you over? I feel like this guy in white. How do people find time to accomplish anything that feels productive. I feel like I'm going a hundred miles an hour and getting no where. It's starting to get really frustrating. I consider myself to be a fairly organized person, but I can't keep up and I don't even do as much as some others do. How do you do it? How do you keep it together?

The scary thing is... this has been my easy season at work. What am I going to do when it get's busy again? We are also changing out signing process. It's going from easy to confusingly easy and I'm way nervous about our first few tries. I know that when we get it down, it will be good, but getting to that point will be interesting. Wish us luck!!

Pictures

Check out the latest pictures I had taken of our kids. They are on the right under the temple.

So is it a bad thing to have picked who you are going to marry at the age of 3? We went and spent some time with my friend Kimberli and her family and while we were there, Brighton (my 3 year old) and Bella (her 3 year old) said they were going to get married in the temple when they are older. Guess we'll see what happens. It didn't help to have older siblings eggin it on.

Monday's...

As most of you know my dad passed away on a Monday morning. What is it about this day? My mom's father passed away this morning. Another Monday.

We (the kids and I) went to Brigham City this weekend and stopped over to see my mom's parents. I don't get to see them very often and the mere fact that I made the decision to go down THIS particular weekend... my grandpa has been very sick for a long time but has continued to hang in there. I'm not sure he even knew I was there, but I went and just sat in his room for about an hour. Tender Mercies!

This picture is my grandpas legacy. We are only missing 2 babies and a husband who weren't in exhistance when this picture was taken. This is a very special picture. My grandma had said for several years that if my grandpa lived to be 80 we would have a big party and family picture. Our family is spread all over, but this is all of us!! I absolutely love this picture. We are all infront of my grandparents house with my favorite tree in the picture. My grandpa turned 81 this last Sunday.
